Four Types of Hydraulic Seal

There are several different types of hydraulic seal, namely are O-rings, wear rings and bearings, head seals, symmetrical, rod, wipers, piston.

1. The SAE adapter o'ring seal

As the name refers, the o'ring seal is specially used in hydraulic adapters, it is widely applied in the sealing connection of SAE adapter fittings and pipes.

2. The rod seal

The rod seal is particularly designed to fit right into the housing bore. Moreover, the sealing lip is found in connection with the shaft too.

3. The piston seal

Simply, this is a variation of the rod seal. What’s the different, the lip connects with housing bore, but not with the shaft. It is pressed carefully in the shaft mechanism. The piston seal has the ability to bear high shock loads. They are also highly resistant to abrasion.

4. The axial seals and symmetric seals.

The axial seal connects in the axis with the housing component, while the symmetric seal equals the piston and rod.
