Two Classification Means for SAE Adapter Fittings

SAE adapter fittings have various types, the general China hydraulic fitting is divided into hard pipe fitting and hydraulic hose fitting. According to the connection means of pipe adapters and pipes, the hard pipe fitting break down into flared type, bite type and welded type; the hydraulic hose fitting is mainly buckle hose connector.

The pipe threads are different in the connection of hydraulic adapter and hydraulic pipes. The taper thread is tightened by its own vertebral body and sealed with PTFE and other nylon materials, it is major applied in the medium and low pressure hydraulic system. The fine thread has the better sealing effect, but, it also requires to use bonded gaskets or SAE adapter o'ring seal sealing the end surface, the fine thread is largely used in high pressure hydraulic system, in addition, the copper washers are more suitable for pipes having the thicker pipe walls.

Because the SAE adapter fittings are detachable components, apart from satisfying the requirements of stable connection, strong sealing, reasonable size, low pressure loss, good process performance and so on, they also have to meet the demand of easy disassembly. SAE adapter fittings are small parts in the whole hydraulic system, but play an important role in the normal operation.
