Hot pushing of stainless steel elbow is developed on the basis of the more common hot push carbon steel elbow technology, and basically has the same processing as the carbon steel elbow, such as the choice of material specifications, changes in wall thickness and heating methods, it is particularly applicable to those orders with lots of specifications and small amount, without additional tooling in the production.
The hot pushing of stainless steel adapter is consistent with the hot push carbon steel elbow, make use of the rule that metal materials keep the same volume in the plastic deformation, forming through the special mandrel diameter bending. The difference is made in the work temperature, speed, lubricant and mandrel material.
In the hot pushing of carbon steel elbow, the temperature is generally between 750 ~ 850 ℃, and the material of 1Cr18Ni9Ti, its tensile strength is much higher than the carbon steel, when requiring a lower deformation resistance, the heating temperature should be increased, generally above 950 ℃ is better.
Because the thermal conductivity of stainless steel is 3 to 4 times lower than carbon steel, so in order to achieve the predetermined heating temperature, the hot pushing speed relatively slows down that enables the workpiece in the induced magnetic field obtaining sufficient heat to achieve the required temperature, also by adjusting the intermediate frequency parameters to improve the temperature, but often subject to objective conditions and can not meet the requirements).
Hot push process is based on the rule that no volume change occurred for metal materials in the plastic deformation, forming through the expansion and bending of mandrel diameter, requiring no change in wall thickness before and after forming and pipe length is equal to elbow outer arc length.
At present, the hot pushing of carbon steel elbow often uses graphite water agent, in the absence of a best lubricant, the SAE stainless steel adapter makes use of graphite oil agent to get a better result, enables meeting surface quality requirements, and without any scratches. But the smoke caused by high temperature makes a certain impact to the production environment. The lubricant problem of stainless steel hot push elbow remains to be studied in depth.
